I finished this game about a month ago and I finally got around to this picture. I mean, I already completed my first game, saved over it to unlock Hero Mode like a moron, then played through THE SECOND time to do all those mini-quests and finish the collections of Goddess Cubes, Gratitude Crystals, ect. When all was said and done, I've got to say--this game is my favorite. Sorry, Resident Evil 4, but your getting bumped to the no. 2 spot (finally).

Going Nowhere

There's this story I've been trying to develop these last couple of days and I've been doodling ideas for the characters' designs. Unfortunately, nothing is turning out exactly how I want it...I decided to post the newer version of these characters. Still workin' on them though. Some things get closer to what I want while others get further away. Maybe some day I'll actually get these two right... >_<

Hell on Earth

So a while back I was workin' on a design for the character of this video game idea I had, but he always looked too generic. Also didn't quite have the lazy, mischievous attitude I was goin' for. This version seems a little closer.
This is what he actually looked like before he was banished from Hell to live out a life sentence as a human on Earth and, depending on which path you were to choose in the game, he could look like this again....Or you could go the other way and become an angel too. Whatever floats yer boat I guess.
Also, some exciting news: Roxy is making a new comic... WITH A BISHONEN IN IT! I couldn't help myself. Had to make a fan art. You can check it out on her blog here.

Oh, look! It's official and comes with a title and everything now! :D
This is Jeriah. He's been redesigned many times since his original creation in... what was it... 2006 or 07? Something like that.
AnnaBelle. Actually, she's the main character! Yay, girl main character for once! What do you mean, "Why didn't you put her first then?" ...No comment.
This is Carson. He proves to everyone that yes, it IS possible to be a smart ass and a dumb one at the same time.
Scarlett. Guess what color her hair is.
This is Doctor Theodore Wilkinson. You may call him Doctor, Theodore or Dr. Wilkinson. "Teddy Bear" is no longer acceptable.
His name is Takoda which means "Friend to everyone" in Sioux. It suits him. :)
This is--you guessed it--the villain! His name is Abraham and hopefully the similarities between him and Carson are apparent because together they make "The Silver Brothers."
Existing picture of Jeriah that I liked too much to scrap.
Redesign of the werewolf. I wanted it be a bit more ferocious-looking. First design made me go "Oooh, I wanna pet the doggy!" Now I am sayin' "Don't feed the animals. (I think they only eat people. o.O)"

So, yeah. The story is basically (by basically I mean almost completely) written, some thumbnails are done, and moving on to bigger, full-scale comic pages soon. Gonna be making my own website for this one too, just like Black Heart, but this won't be such an epic, ambitious project. It is a self-contained short story. Well, that's all for now, but you can bet that I'll be back to post more about it soon!

I photographed this about twenty times and it still didn't turn out very good. In any case, it is 104 degrees outside today... IN MINNESOTA! First I wanted to take my kids to the beach but it was too cold or rainy... now it is too hot to let little ones outside. I hope that it is nice on Lily's Birthday so she can finally get to go swimming!

So yeah... I'm working on yet another comic. It was another old one that I picked up again to try to rework. It is still highly conceptual at this point though. All I know is I want it to be about werewolves in the old west. Anyway, here's some character designs so far.
Hopefully I will have some more done soon. The guy in the middle is the same one pictured above as a werewolf. Despite the pictures, everyone will eventually have faces. D:Oh, and I found this old picture of Leon collecting dust in a sketchbook. I draw him a lot. :P

This is yet another concept for another video game I would love to make.
...And here's the REAL reason why I felt the need to post again so soon after my last post. Lily (my two-year-old daughter) drew a picture that I absolutely fell in love with! This is a face and it wasn't made accidentally as often happens when a little one is learning how to draw. She specifically told me what it was, indeed, a face. :)
On another note... Happy Valentine's Day! (My daughter is also waaay into SpongeBob so I drew her this Valentine to color.)

Been giving this story a lot of thought lately, and I think I'm gonna change a few things and update the characters too. I never can quite capture the look I want for Darion, but I wonder if this picture is coming a bit closer. He looks too intense here--not to say that he doesn't have his moments--but this might be going too far.

It's Been A While...

No updates since July? Tsk, tsk... Well the truth is that I haven't been drawing much since then (besides my comic). So here's a few dogs that I sketched while I was at work. Nothing too exciting, and again, apologizing for my lack of updates.This is probably my favorite drawing, but definitely not my favorite dog breed. Can't get over those eyebrows...These guys are probably my favorite dog breed (personality wise).I don't like the way this one turned out.Corgis are cute, but I've only met one that was well-behaved.
Had to draw this one for old times sake (remember Top Dog?). I've never had to groom an Akita and that's probably a good thing.

Yeah, I'm working on one of my epics that I thought I gave up on a long time ago. I look forward to having a separate blog dedicated to my comics, including this one. Everybody got a little makeover with new attire. Aidan looks especially grumpy.

I had to keep reworking Blaine and Illona as kids. God, I can't draw kids.

Blaine as an adult, 18 or so? I am not 100% convinced that this is his final design yet.

Blaine again, only younger. This is how he looks on his 16th Birthday after his father breaks the news about his engagement.

Illona as an adult. Same thing as Blaine-- not sure if this is exactly what I wanted her final design to be like. We will see...

This one helped inspire Blaine's hair.
